Publishing Perspectives reports that, according to Nielsen Book, self-published books (digital and print) represented 5% of the total market in 2014, totaling £58 million of book spend and some 17 million units. Self-published titles represented 5% of all books sold (again print and digital) and 15% of all ebooks (up 16% in the first quarter of 2015 and up 77% since 2012). http://bit.ly/1L2ilWa (June 10, 2015)

According to the Association of American Publishers (AAP), as reported by Digital Book World, U.S. publishers scored about $28 billion in revenue in 2014, with ebooks growing 3.8% to roughly $3.37 billion for the year. http://bit.ly/1B2UG4L (June 10, 2015)
